In the quietest corners of my heart

In the quietest corners of my heart

I hear your voice say to me aloud

“You will always find me there

in the fluttering leaves, and in the

swiftest breeze..

In the places we have laughed and in

the streets we have passed.

In the silly jokes and warm memories we have shared

In the shops we have messed around

and in the songs we have sang…

And late in the night, when you wake up

to the tiniest of noise

Remember it is only me wishing

you goodnight.

And sometimes I know, it is way past mid night

you wake up running out of breath.

I’m sorry I am putting you through this

But its only me wanting to tell you

I am still here

I have not yet left”

In the quietest corners of my heart

I hear you say……..
